Paralympic champion Lenia Ruvalcaba claimed gold on the final day of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Judo Grand Prix in Warwick.

The Mexican judoka enjoyed a dominant day at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

Ruvalcaba won her opening two bouts of the women’s under-70 kilogram competition to reach the final, where she overcame Brazil’s Alana Maldonado by a golden score.

Uzbekistan’s Vasila Aliboeva and Georgia’s Ina Kaldani finished as bronze medallists in the weight division.

Ukraine’s Iryna Husieva triumphed in the second women’s event of the day.

Husieva overcame Uzbekistan’s Nafisa Sheripboeva in the under-63kg final, courtesy of a match winning ippon score.

Italy's Carolina Costa achieved an ippon score with eight seconds remaining in the over-70kg final to beat Brazil's Meg Emmerich.

Ukraine’s Anastasiia Harnyk and Rebeca Silva of Brazil won bronze medals.

Spain’s Marta Arce Payno and United States’ Liana Mutia completed the podium places.

The men’s under-81kg title was earned by Lee Jung Min of South Korea.

The Rio 2016 Paralympic silver medallist secured an ippon win over Mexico’s Eduardo Avila Sanchez in the final, with Kazakhstan’s Galymzhan Smagululy and Ukraine’s Dmytro Solovey winning bronze.

Britain’s World Championship bronze medallist Elliot Stewart and reigning world champion Oleksandr Nazarenko of Ukraine were touted as contenders for the under-90kg title.

Both judokas suffered semi-final defeats against France’s Helios Latchoumanya and Kazakhstan’s Zhanbota Amazhol.

Latchoumanya earned victory in the final by beating Amazhol with an ippon score.

Stewart and Nazarenko were bronze medallists in the division.

Azerbaijan’s Karan Abdullakhanli triumphed in the under-100kg competition, following an ippon win over Uzbekistan’s Sulaymon Alaev.

Britain’s Christopher Skelley was left settling for bronze, with the final podium spot earned by Germany’s Oliver Upmann.

The over-100kg crown was earned by Georgia’s Revaz Chikoidze.

Chikoidze overcame Cuba’s Yordani Fernandez Sastre in the final, with Brazil’s Wilians Araujo and South Korea’s Choi Gwang Geun taking bronze.
