The Academic Sport Association (ASA) - the governing body for university sport in Israel - hosted a mini-championship as COVID-19 rules started to ease.

Men and women competed in six sports in the Red Sea city of Eilat - beach volleyball, futsal, swimming, climbing, tennis and 3x3 basketball.

Known as the ASA Championship, the event was the first to be organised since social restrictions were introduced following the coronavirus outbreak.

In all, 600 athletes competed from 15 different universities.

There are now hopes that the ASA Championship will return to its usual full format next year.
