Three students have won first prize for their project involving the design of the 2023 World University Games in Yekaterinburg.

The results of the competition organised by the Ural State University of Architecture and Art (USUAA) in partnership with the Games Directorate were announced at the Ural Design Center.

University students have been working on the concepts of the territorial zoning of the Games Park as part of their studies for three months.

The Park that will form the centrepiece of this International University Sports Federation (FISU) flagship event will be located at the Historical Square in Yekaterinburg.

The competition concluded with the victory of USUAA students Elena Kozlova, Anna Burkova, and Tatyana Golmakova and their project The Meeting Place.

Second place was awarded to the project by Alena Yagodina, Elvira Zimagulova, and Mariya Drozhaschih, and third place went to the work of Ulyana Sheshukova, Anastasia Pilyasova, and Irina Shiryaeva.

Contestants who won top spots were awarded tickets to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as to the Games' competitions.

Alexander Chernov, director general of the Executive Directorate of the Games, was present at the ceremony and thanked the students for their submissions.

He said the various project would definitely be taken into account and will help to create the Park that guests of the 2023 FISU World University Games would always remember.
