usa_wrestling_olympic_trials_01-09-11September 2 - USA Wrestling have announced the athlete selection process for the London 2012 Olympic Games with the team trials set to take place next April at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa.

All the men's freestyle, women's freestyle, and Greco-Roman Olympic hopefuls aiming for a spot on Team USA at London 2012 will have to compete at the event from April 21-22 but any past US World or Olympic team member will qualify automatically for the team trials.

All other athletes must compete in preliminary qualifying events or procedures that are prerequisites to attend the trials, with all potential participants having to provide the minimum eligibility requirements - including citizenship and age - to be considered for nomination to Team USA.

The USA Wrestling Olympic team trials will be the only determinant to decide which US athletes represent their country at London 2012.

The event is being hosted by an organising committee that includes officials at the University of Iowa, City of Coralville, and the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

All-Session tickets can be purchased, with children's seats available for $40 (£25/€28), adults for $70 (£43/€49) and VIP packages priced at $175 (£108/€123).

The VIP package includes a preferred seating, parking pass, official programme, limited edition Dan Gable bobblehead, t-shirt, and access to a concierge lounge where food and drink are available.

A special combined ticket package for UI Wrestling season ticket holders has also been approved by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

Hawkeye fans who order all-session tickets when purchasing 2011-12 Iowa Wrestling season tickets will also receive the limited edition Dan Gable bobblehead and an exclusive USA/Hawkeye wrestling t-shirt.
