The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) announced their official calendar for 2024. Kazakhstan will become one of the Sambo centres in 2024. Their capital Astana will host the World championship from November 8-10, and Aktau will host Asia and Oceania Sambo Youth and master championships. The European Sambo championships will be held in Serbia’s Novi Sad from May 9-10, a day later the EuropeanYouth and Junior Sambo championship will start.

It is well known that sometimes to win the European or even the World champion title is much easier in sambo than to win a tournament in Russia. But for Mikhail Kahsurnikov (combat sambo, +98 kg) everything looked too easy. 

Most of Russia's best sambists are set to start in the Russian Sambo Cup 2023 which will be held from November 27 to December 1 in the city of Kstovo.

The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) has published the dates of World Sambo Championships 2024. 

Vasily Shestakov, president of FIAS, was pleased during the International Sambo Day. "It is a pride and joy to see that our beloved sport is turning 85." The president stated that "in 1938, our founding fathers created this sport," and since then, its practice and development have been growing, multiplying, and becoming international.

The Spanish Federation's call-up consists of four sambo athletes, following the last-minute withdrawal of the double bronze medallist (2019 and 2020), Cristina Casas (50kg).

The Dominican Republic is setting its sights on Armenia. The Caribbean country will be present at the upcoming Sambo World Championships taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, from November 10th to 12th, as reported by RC Noticias.

The success of organizing the youth world championship in October played a significant role in the decision of the federation's executive committee to grant Armenia the opportunity to host the senior edition.
