International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach welcomed a delegation from the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Palestine led by its President, Jibril Rajoub, at Olympic House in Lausanne on Wednesday.

Former IOC marketing director Michael Payne claims Sebastian Coe has damaged his chances of succeeding Thomas Bach as IOC president by awarding prize money to track and field gold medallists at Paris 2024.

The French Minister for Sport and the Olympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, has denied to deputies that there were any "hidden costs" or "budgetary abuses" in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. "There are no hidden costs or budget abuses. These Olympic Games are the least expensive since Sydney in 2000," the minister assured.

The Kremlin on Friday denounced as "unacceptable" French President Emmanuel Macron's claims that Russia was trying to undermine the Paris Olympics through a disinformation campaign. Macron said on Thursday that Moscow was trying to promote the narrative that France was incapable of hosting the Games and that the event would be a risk.

French President Macron warned last Thursday of the danger of Russian disinformation during the Paris Olympics, saying his country was ready for the challenge. "I don't doubt" that the Games will be targeted by Russia, "including in the field of information," Macron said at the inauguration of the Aquatic Centre, the largest sports facility built for next summer's Olympics.  

Russian wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulaev, a two-time Olympic freestyle wrestling champion, has been banned from competing in the qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, according to the Russian Wrestling Federation.

The Dutch Combat Sports Association (NVB) has given its support to the international governing body Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) in the organisation of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as a demonstration discipline at the 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana.

World Boxing has positioned itself as 'the international federation', following the High Court's decision to dismiss the IBA's appeal against its expulsion. It urges all national federations 'to join and support World Boxing'.

The International Boxing Association (IBA) disagrees with the arguments used by CAS to dismiss its appeal against the IOC, including "not having a coherent roadmap for the IBA to follow or a direct channel to communicate." Meanwhile, the IOC has announced that it "needs to partner with the International Boxing Federation by early 2025."
