The Viking Ship Olympic Arena in Hamar, Norway, is ready to welcome the world's best university speed skaters when the Hamar 2024 FISU World University Championship Speed Skating kicks off on 22-25 February.

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute are pleased to announce volunteer opportunities for the 2024 European University Games. There are opportunities for one-year placements at the EUSA office or for the European University Games in Debrecen-Miskolc in July 2024.

Canada has opened the call for applications for the FISU Forum. It provides an opportunity for various students as well as academic staff or leaders in university sport to come together to discuss educational, cultural and university sport policies.

Ahead of the 2024 FISU World University Championships Cross Country set to be held in Muscat, Oman, on 17-18 February, FISU President Leonz Eder held a series of important meetings with local academic and sports authorities.

The Sultanate of Oman will host a FISU event for the first time when its capital, Muscat, hosts the 23rd FISU World University Championships Cross Country. The two-day competition, on 17-18 February, will feature six races - short and long mixed relays, 3km for women and men, 10km for women and men.

The Hungarian city of Miskolc hosted a two-day Supervision Commission meeting on 13-14 February 2024, where local organisers provided an update on their continued progress in organising the next edition of the European Universities Games 2024.

The Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF) celebrated a major milestone on 7 February 2024, marking its 30th anniversary at an event held at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport in Zagreb.

Last Friday, a seminar was held in Warsaw as part of the Enhancing Sports Organizations and Management (ESOM) project, co-funded by the European Union. The event addressed key issues related to volunteering and the management of university sports events.

The International University Sports Federation and the Chinese University Sports Federation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Healthy Campus Programme in China.

Julius Bär Bank becomes one of the sponsors of Swiss University Sport and the two parties sign an agreement to work together for the next three years with the aim of deepening a single goal in mind: "Supporting the leaders of tomorrow". The aim is to promote of the combination of sport and study.

The first meeting of the YouMind (Youth Individual Sports Mindset) project partners took place on 22 January in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The meeting was organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). 

Doha University of Science and Technology (UDST), in collaboration with FISU, and the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF), organised the first "Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Universities Sport & Wellness Symposium 2024" a prestigious event held from 14-16 January.
